Opika was conceived as an informal neighborhood restaurant and market, focus on honest, well-sourced organic and natural food and goods at reasonable prices. Pika means express in Finnish, hence the creation of Opika Organic, meaning Organic Express. The design was directed by Opika’s brand concept which is to create and sustain balance in life, nature and ecology.
To bring OPIKA to life, we developed an information-rich communication platform to speak to a demographic hungry for facts and their stories evokes the world of the farm, while hand drawn illustrations styles convey a spontaneous energy and artisanal spirit.
The outlets opens up like a home with a pitch roof design, to create a atmosphere of wholesomeness. The market is represented in blue to reflect freshness and creates a defined section for the retail section, with open black open shelves that are accentuated with punch lighting to create focus for products on sale.
The red color palette represents energy of the food and forms the main color theme for the restaurant. The seating areas are elevated on a platform with banquette seating lining the wall and a special VIP area tucked at the back creates an intimate dining experience. The open kitchen sits in the center, engages the customers through its culinary preparation.
SWOT covered a lot of ground to bring OPIKA to life : a brand identity, the interior design, the outlet signage and communication graphics, retail packaging, private label packaging and a website.
